Why Intimate Hygiene Matters

Any girl knows that care of the intimate area should be treated carefully because this part of the female body is more susceptible to “attacks” by bacteria.

Use Separate Towels and Quality Underwear

Buy a separate towel. It should be soft so that it does not damage the vaginal mucosa. The towel should be changed at least twice a week. And never use a towel that you wipe other parts of the body with to avoid bacterial growth in the intimate area.

Take care to buy quality underwear to allow the skin to breathe and to prevent pathogens from multiplying in the intimate zone. Buy underwear made of cotton and refuse synthetic fabrics.

Washing Guidelines

With washing there are also a few rules. Care for the intimate zone should be carried out in the morning and evening. The water should not flow directly into the vagina, but from the top to the bottom so that microflora in the intimate zone is not washed away.

The temperature of the water should be comfortable. In no case should you wash with hot water. That would lead to the irritation of the vaginal mucosa. Movements during washing should be carried out from front to back so that bacteria from the anus does not get into the intimate zone.

The inside of the vagina does not require washing. Only the outer part of the intimate area needs to be cared for.

Remember to wash before as well as after sexual intercourse to minimize the risk of infection.

During periods you need to replace your hygiene products twice a day. After changing the pad you should rinse the intimate area as during this period intimate hygiene is very necessary.
